obs_title            = SIMLA - Spitzer/IRS Mapping Legacy Archive

obs_description      = Uniformly reduced, background-subtracted mid-infrared spectral cubes from nearly all low-resolution mapping-mode fixed-target observations obtained with the Spitzer Infrared Spectrograph (IRS). SIMLA covers approximately 5.2 to 38.4 microns at a spectral resolving power of R~60-130 and contains maps of several hundred Galactic and extragalactic targets.

prov_progenitor      = SIMLA background-subtracted spectral cubes produced from Spitzer/IRS low-resolution mapping-mode Basic Calibrated Data processed with the SSC IRS pipeline S18.18.0. Cubes were assembled by the SIMLA collaboration using CUBISM, with tailored backgrounds constructed from off-source IRS observations and zodiacal-emission models.
